Maesetsu!: Opening Act (まえせつ!, MAESETSU -opening act-) is a Japanese anime series produced in collaboration between Studio Gokumi and AXsiZ. It is set for a 2020 release.[1]

Plot summary[edit | edit source]

Join four young girls trying to make a breakthrough in the entertainment industry as owarai. With their hearts and ambitions in each of their hands, they aim to perform at the Nanba Grand Kagetsu Hall in Osaka. Meanwhile, the girls diligently hone their comedic craft amid their part-time jobs and start from the bottom doing gigs in Shibuya.

The anime is anime original series and was co-animated by both Studio Gokumi and AXsiZ studios. It is scheduled to last for 12 episodes.

A Manga adaptation is currently in serialization since July 27, 2020, which is released by Monthly Comic Alive. As of November 2020, a single tankōbon volume has been released.
