Twogether! (ふたりで！, Futari de!) is the 6th episode of Maesetsu!: Opening Act.
Summary[]
Manatsu and Kanae practice their comedy routines in order to qualify to make it into the final cut of the Comedy Fest. In the end, however, they don't make it leaving Manatsu in a morose disposition.
Plot[]
An excited Manatsu, reveals to Kanae and two others, the results of their application to the Comedy Fest.
Both Manatsu practice their comedy act together and when they're finished jot down notes. Pulling out her tablet with a poster of the upcoming High School Comedy Fest on it, Manatsu suggests they enter it and Kanae agrees to do it.
At the restaurant, the girls work at, Rin sees a poster about the upcoming High School Comedy Fest. Upon seeing it, she becomes upset and informs the others about it. Later that night at home, Mafuyu learns from Manatsu that Kanae and he are entering in the upcoming contest. The following day, Mafuyu reveals this information to the girls at The Baron. Each one of them has their own opinion, but Rin seems to be the sharpest. It's also noted that Rin sounds strangely like Junki when opining her criticism by Fubuki which perturbs her.
Meanwhile, at school, just as Manatsu and Kanae review their material, they see the members of JK Cool and approach them. Unbeknownst to the elated Manatsu, she doesn't realize that Arashi acting rather apprehensive toward them. When Manatsu asks for advice as Kanae and her will be participating in the upcoming Comedy Fest. Eru gives them a quick piece of advice and drags her surly partner away. After this encounter, the two diligently practice their craft, and when they're ready submit their application to the contest.
In the present, Manatsu checks the results of their application, however, they don't make the cut, which disheartens Manatsu immensely. Three days after this revelation, Manatsu still is in a forlorn disposition about the rejection. The girls talk about this in The Baron and to cheer them up, Mafuyu orders two desserts to go for them. At the school, Manatsu and Kanae, go home for the day and Mafuyu meets with Kanae. After giving her desert is elaborated on the application rejection situation. That night, the two sisters enjoy dinner together and Mafuyu tries to cheer up her sister.
The following day at school, Kanae encounters the members of JK Cool again and after briefly talking with them is inspired to continue practicing comedy. During this practice, Kanae is approached by Manatsu and they make-up with each other. Afterward, when Mafuyu returns home, she's treated to a dinner that Manatsu prepared. Mafuyu discloses this to the girls the next day at work. Eventually, Ubuno arrives and informs them that she has tickets to the upcoming Namba Grand Kagestsu event. However, the catch is that she only has two tickets and they'll have to pay for their own transportation.
